South Africa is a ‘world in one country’.

Where to to go - Bushveld and beaches, mountains and rivers, and a beautiful city

  • Sabi Sands, Kruger National Park

The Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, is one of only seven private concessions in the Kruger area. It conserves a habitat that is home to one of the highest and most diverse concentrations of wildlife in the Southern hemisphere. There are no fences between it and the adjacent Kruger Park so the animals move freely. You can see all of Africa’s high profile species here – lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, and zebra – along with another, no less intriguing, 137 mammal species and over 450 varieties of bird.

Along with game drives you can choose to spend a night in a treehouse. Children’s safaris are a speciality at some camps. Contact us to learn more.

  • Marakele National Park, Marataba Reserve

Viewing wildlife against the rugged sandstone backdrop of the Waterberg mountains is a unique experience. The elevation means this area is malaria free. All of the large game species, from elephant and rhino to the big cats, as well as an amazing variety of birds - including the largest colony of endangered Cape vultures in the world - were found or have been reintroduced here. It is a suitable environment for rare yellowwoods and cedars, cycads and tree ferns. As it’s Tswana name suggests, it has become a ‘place of sanctuary’.

Game drives, walks and cruises on the dam will bring you wonderful game sightings and scenic views.

  • Madikwe

    Madikwe Game Reserve

Madikwe is West of Johannesburg, on the border with Botswana. An area where poor soils had rendered farming unsuccessful has become a conservation success story, to the benefit of both people and wildlife. During a massive relocation exercise, named Operation Phoenix, entire breeding herds of elephants, Cape buffaloes, black and white rhinos, along with various species of antelope, were brought back to the area. Later, rarer predatory species such as lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas and Cape Hunting Dogs were successfully reintroduced. There are now more than 60 species of mammal in the park.
